Corrections Policy

We get things wrong sometimes. When we do, we want to fix it quickly and openly — here's how.

Our commitment

Our guides are living documents. Specs change, models are discontinued, and mistakes slip through. If a page has an error — an outdated spec, a wrong measurement, a broken claim, or a product that no longer exists — we treat correcting it as a priority, not an inconvenience.

How to report an error

Email corrections@ceilingfansandlighting.com with as much of the following as you can:

  • The page URL where you saw the error
  • What's wrong, and what you believe is correct
  • A source or reference, if you have one (a manufacturer spec sheet, standards body, etc.)

What happens next

Every correction request is reviewed by Jane Cornwell, our Editorial Director. We aim to acknowledge reports within 2 business days and, where a change is warranted, update the page promptly. If we're wrong, we fix it and don't pretend otherwise.

Every published guide shows a "Last updated" date, and significant changes move that date forward so you can see the content has been revised.

For anything beyond a factual fix, see our complaints policy or contact us.
